Setup & compatibility
  1. Open PocketBar.dmg and drag PocketBar into Applications.
  2. Open the menu bar icon and choose Set up Android. Accept Google’s licence and download the Android image (about 2–3 GB).
  3. Drop in APKs or install apps through F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid or Aurora Store.

Requires Apple Silicon M1 or newer, macOS 14+ and 3–8 GB for Android. Choose Android 11–16, with separate data for each version.

Will my Android apps work?

Compatibility varies. Google Play Services are not included, so some apps—including banking and payment apps—may not work fully. PocketBar supports Android apps only and is designed for everyday tasks rather than gaming.

About version 1.0

The current build uses a development certificate and is not yet notarized, so macOS may show a first-launch warning. Google’s emulator licence needs legal review before a paid release.
